“The worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else. I hate that.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger
Rock Stars are unique.
They are not just another musician in the band, another cog in the corporate wheel, another IDS Analyst or Pen Tester or Forensics gal.
Think about Schwarzenegger, Dr Eric Cole, Sid Vicious, Paul Asadoorian, Confucius, Brian Krebs, Madonna, Bruce Schneier, Mick Jagger, Clement Dupuis, Jerry Garcia, and more.
All unique. Blending into the crowd is not an option – not if you want serious results.
Looking just as Arnold, who else is the world’s best known (retired) professional bodybuilder, movie star, and politician? Obviously no one. Arnold is unique as are all the people we mention above.
Arnold’s first Rock Star status was as a professional bodybuilder and he is still revered in bodybuilding circle. He is still the youngest ever Mr. Olympia and won an unprecedented 6 times in a row.
His second Rock Star status was as an actor. No one could have played The Terminator like Arnold. Anyone else, no matter how good they might have been, would have been a very different Terminator.
He went on to be governor of California and who knows what else, all with his inimitable style.
Unique just for the sake of uniqueness doesn’t cut it.
Put on a bumblebee suit and paint your fingernails purple and you’ll look like a fool, not a Rock Star. Unless of course you already are a Rock Star with an entourage and can be as bizarre as you want.
Everyone has their own person strengths and style and to be a Rock Star needs to capitalize on them.
Rocks Stars are not like everyone else. Every single one is unique.
